And somehow it’s Tuesday night and I haven’t blogged since Saturday!
I’m sure you’re on the edge of your seats to hear about my most recent workouts. 🙂 On Sunday I’d planned on going for a moderate run but, believe it or not, was pretty sore from my big workout on Saturday, go figure! So I went to yoga and had a great class and called it a day. Yesterday I went to a strength training class during my lunch break (it was great! really unique moves!), and today had one last yoga class for quite some time.
Because tomorrow I leave for nearly 3 solid weeks of travel!
I’m heading out to 5 different cities in 3 continents over the next 3 weeks. Luckily I come back to Chicago in between each, which gives me just enough time to do laundry and drive my car around a bit to keep the battery fresh. Each trip is a few days in duration, which is also good – gives me just enough time to adjust to a new time zone and weather before I head out again!
I haven’t traveled this much in such a short period of time in a long time – I think it’ll all end up being awesome, but I just really need to keep all of the logistics straight. I’m just taking it one trip at a time, and I’m definitely ready for the first leg of the journey – flying to DC early tomorrow morning to hopefully avoid snow here and storms there!
I created a workout schedule that I think is reasonable – some rest days are unavoidable (like when I fly to Asia in a few weeks and will literally spend a day in the air – as fancy as United’s business class seats are, you can’t really squeeze a workout into them!) – but I think I can manage the plan. Part of the reason why I didn’t run on Sunday is that I know several of my workouts in the coming weeks will be on treadmills in hotel fitness centers – no need to overdo it with running!
As far as food goes…I suppose that’s why I haven’t blogged in a bit; I definitely had a binge day on Sunday (and was embarrassed about it) and still had extra ice cream last night. So for this trip I really want to stay inside some parameters – I want to enjoy the local cuisine wherever I am (especially Asia), but keep it within reason. I’m trying to remind myself to take it one day at a time. My freezer here is stocked with foods I can easily reheat for the days in between each trip, so I think that’ll help me stay within my lane as well.
Anyway I am so tired and off to bed! Hopefully I’ll get a chance to write after each little journey, but if you want to track me…my destinations are DC, Paris, Kuala Lumpur, Savannah (GA), and Cologne, Germany. Back on March 16!
